Scrappy

Well i was going to tell you all about my new sewing machine but i got all involved in scrapping i saw this post and i just got going !!http://quiltinggallery.com/2013/02/20/tutorial-scrappy-herringbone-quilt-block/
These 3 are the first that i made .....................i use printing paper not fancy pants stuff that costs !! just use a small stitch so it tears easy ,these are sewn together

Now these below are made in the same way but i used one sheet of paper for  4 blocks quick and easy to do
the  Quality St is empty by the way :)))))

dont you think they are cute

I have made 16 today !!!

and busted a lot of scraps :)))

so it is a w.i.p and hopefully one day it might be a quilt .............for free !! now that i like :))

I have been wanting one of these ,do you see that i have put the bit round the rim on the out side instead of the inside ...............i dont seem to be able to read the pattern started putting it in the right place thought it was wrong then re-read after !!and it should be inside oh well looks ok this is the pattern Here

By the way this is the new machine and so far i love it ,love the thread cutter it is great not having all those threads when paper piecing it has got loads of fancy stuff good size throat 9 1/2 inchesi have been using it just over a week so lots to learn yet and will let you know what i like or dont like soon but so far all good i read loads of reviews till my eyes crossed for all manner of machine it is not easy to decide........................it is quiet too

Hello every one ,i bought the charm packs in the sales as you do now i wonder if anyone could suggest a for a christmas quilt  i did think wonky stars !!  i want to show case the fabrics as they are so cute .

these are my blocks for me this month the one on the left is jan lucky stars BOM i will show you the blocks as they come in they are looking good on flickr Here

quilt as you go

I have been doing a little sewing i thought i would have a go at quilt as you go so out came the scrap bag i sewed a couple of bits of batting together as i am very low on it ................so off i went seemed to take forever to do but quite a pleasing result .

just from another angle at this point i still had a good way to go but it kept me busy .

Pip keeping warm she had been snuggled in the blanket i got the camera out and she had to lift up her head to pose !!!

Daffs from Morrisons 50p a pot has brightened up my kitchen  took these last weekend when we had the snow

I have now finished my quilt as you go so i will let you see it and my inspiration !!! next time ....later today !!!

I was in the scrappy swap it was fab loved it lots of great people in there  run by ...Kat

This was another thing i made for the swap but sent the NYB

Had a go at this compass fiddly but worth it

Blocks for Heather for December

2nd Block

Lonestar one of my favorites

January blocks for Christine do not look at the middle this block was a horror to do and it looks so ok :)))
i think i will not be doing it again ,stitch ripper came in handy:))

2nd block.
That was a quick catch up with photos...................we had been looking for a House and we found one so that is why i have been on a bloggy break we moved on the 18th December  and had Christmas and New Year to contend with but we made it and came out the other side .
The move has taken us to Yorkshire to be near my Mum it was easier to move than keep running up and down every month with a 4 hour drive .i am hoping that i will find a sewing group and fabric shops nearby, in Scotland it was Glasgow or Edinburgh before i could find anything
Though i was invited by the lovely Katy to join her group i went once and i was so looking forward to more times but Mum got the notion to move and it seems that i have done nothing but pack boxes for 6 months !!!
so now once we are straight i will have a room to sew in "yay"
